Where does the name ‘Hotel du Vin’ come from?
The name originates from 1994 when the chain was founded by Gerard Basset and Robin Hutson. The name was a reference to Basset's wine expertise. At the time Basset was a Master Sommelier; he then went on to become a Master of Wine.

Does Hotel du Vin allow guests to bring dogs? Yes, all Hotel du Vin are dog friendly and you are welcome to bring up to 2 well behaved dogs per room. There is an additional charge for dogs which is £25 for one dog per night or £40 for two dogs per night. The charge includes a dog bed suitable for a small to medium sized dog, a protective mat, 2 dog bowls and a treat bag that includes ‘poo bags’.
