What is the difference between a Haven Holiday and a Haven Hideaway?
Haven offers two different grades of holiday experience on all of their 38 holiday parks throughout the UK. Both options allow you to book any grade of accommodation you wish from saver grade caravans through to the luxury lodges and both options allow you to use the outside children's play areas, mini-mart shops, arcades, restaurants, takeaways food outlets and the laundrette.
In addition to all this the Haven Holiday adds in the Haven Play Pass which adds access to the swimming pools, flume slides and lazy rivers plus the ability to book any of the additional activities (most for a modest additional fee) which range quite widely according to which park you are staying in from kayaking, paddleboarding, surfing, high aerial adventures, bike hire, archery, Nerf training camps etc etc..
It is worth remembering that without the play pass you cannot book paid for activities because the cost of these is subsidised from the play pass purchase cost.
The Haven Holiday also adds in all of the entertainment which includes both daytime and night-time live music and shows.

What is the price difference between the Haven Holiday and Haven Hideaway?
The price can vary widely depending not only on the holiday park you are staying at (parks with more extensive activities tend to cost more) but also whether you are visiting during the peak times or not.
As a guide for a family of four staying for 7 nights during peak season (school holidays) the cost varies between approximately £200 to £300 depending on the park, and during the off peak season £150 to £200. It would be wise to add an additional £100 to this cost to cover the 'booking' cost of various additional activities once on the park, for example paddleboarding would cost £20 per person and bike hire £6 per person per half day.
Remember that this is the 'base' price and that although you will have access to the swimming pools you will likely have to pay additional amounts for activities, see our full guide on the Haven Play Pass which details additional costs for the various activities.
Is the Haven Hideaway a good value option?
The answer to this really depends on your personal preferences. If you just want a really comfortable place to stay in a great coastal location with access to the basics of shopping for food or decent restaurants, but are otherwise happy to seek your own entertainment and are more of an 'explorer type' than preferring to be 'entertained' within a holiday park then the Hideaway option will be perfect and can offer great value for money.
The Hideaway option is certainly more popular with older guests who are staying without younger children and probably won't get the full value out of the swimming pools etc.
Which Haven Holiday Parks are best for a Haven Hideaway?
This is a good question to consider because some parks are located in quiet locations away from many outside amenities whereas others are close to a wide choice of interesting places to explore and visit.
To demonstrate this point consider the two Haven Holiday Parks close to Blackpool as perfect for booking a Haven Hideaway, this is because right on your doorstep you have Blackpool with a huge Pleasure Beach amusement park, the Sandcastle waterpark which is the UK's largest indoor pool complex with 18 water slides, Blackpool Zoo, Blackpool Tower and Ballroom, Sea Life Blackpool and the list goes on... basically right on your doorstep there is a wealth of family attractions which could easily keep your family entertained for a fun filled week. Explore the latest lowest priced deals at both the Blackpool Haven Holiday Parks of Cala Gran and Marton Mere now.
At the other end of this comparison you could look at the Cornish resorts of Perran Sands which is a fantastic holiday park for the family but outside the park there is not a big choice of alternative venues close by. You do have The Eden Project and a lovely beach with some coastal walks but not much but else without driving a fair distance. This makes Perran Sands a good choice for a full Haven Holiday.
If you are looking for a quiet more nature focused holiday then we think the perfect Haven Hideaway destination could be Littlesea in Dorset where on your doorstep you have beautiful coastal walks, Chesil Beach, Abbotsbury Swannery and the Sea Life centre in Weymouth.
